More pop!
Most skateboards are made from Maple trees. I grew up playing baseball. Baseball bats are made out of both Maple and Ash. I always preferred hitting with Ash bats because the ball really pops off the bat when hit. If it works for baseball, it should work for skating. These are the only Ash / Maple blend skateboards on the market, and they pop!
Ash to ash and dust to dust.
The White Ash was one of the most common trees in Pennsylvania, and neighboring states, until a non-native insect called the Emerald Ash Borer was introduced to our forests in 2002. This insect is native to Asia and has no natural predators in our local forests. The insect larva feed on the living part of the tree just under the bark. The tree usually dies within a few months. These skateboards are made out of salvaged dead Ash trees. I want these skateboards to get people talking about our forests and the threats they face. If we take care of our forests, they will take care of us.
