SUMMARY:Van at Elk Creek (the music of Camp Krislund)
DESCRIPTION:Join me  for a special night of acoustic music celebrating the musical legacy of camp Krislund.   Krislund is a Presbyterian Church camp in the mountains of eastern Centre County\, PA.  Beginning in the 1960’s this camp promoted a culture of living and learning with others in the forest.  At Krislund I didn’t feel like I was visiting the forest\, rather I felt like I was part of the forest.   Music has always been a cornerstone of camp culture.  These singing sessions blended old church favorites like “I’ll Fly Away” with folk and pop songs like “Take Me Home Country Roads” and “In My Mind I’m Going to Carolina”.   I was a camper\, a counselor\, and now an occasional adult volunteer at Krisulund.  These songs are a common thread for people of several generations.   Join me for a 1 night only celebration of these great songs. \n  \nElk Creek Cafe + Ale Works \n  \nMilheim PA \n  \nOct. 2nd\, 7pm. \n  \nVan Wagner performing acoustic songs from the woods of camp Krislund \n  \nFree admission \n
